Performance Characteristics of a Novel Chopper Using Pspice.

Abstract

DC choppers it widely used for Traction and industry drives motor control and in the applications where a regulated de source is required. Thyristor  choppers applications in industry drives and electric traction where high power is controlled. Normal (classical) chopper, Jane's choppers and bridge dropper me the most thyristor circuits used in practice. In order in reliability. improve the output waveforms, and enlarge the range of control, a modified chopper has been suggested. The performance characteristics of the new choppers determined and comp with other choppers using Pspice. The effect of the dropper parameterson itsperformance have beendetermined. The simulation results have been compared with animal results. Good agreement has been obtained Causes of some discrepancies have been determined.
