Characteristics of Plan Poiseuille Flows under the Effect of Electro-Magnetics Fields.

Abstract

The fully developed flow between two parallel plates in an electrically conducting fluid under the acting of electromagnetic fields is solved analytically. The value of flow rate. Velocity. Share stress and skin friction coefficient at the plates are derived. It is noticed that the electromagnetic forces are able to derive the flow in the absence of the pressure gradient also; the flow characteristics are largely changed when the electromagnetic fields are applied in the presence of the pressure gradient. The change in velocity. Shear stress and skin friction coefficient are represented as a function of the geometrical ratio between the channel height and the electrode width h/a, electric current density and strength of magnetic field.
