This paper is concerned with the investigation of the effect of the nature of the surface of the condensate film on heat transfer during laminar film condensation. An idealized rippled nature of the film surface is proposed. Local heat transfer coefficients are calculated for film condensation on a vertical plate in laminarcase. Calculations are performed numerically. For the proposed rippled nature of the film surface, the average heat transfer coefficients are up to 20% higher than that obtained for smooth condensate surface.
